Ideas for Action will be hosting a special program during the 2017 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington DC, on Tuesday October 10th  

The summit will focus on promoting the importance of involving youth in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. The agenda will create unique opportunities both for development and industry leaders to gain first-hand insights into fostering youth engagement and for young leaders from around the world to share innovative ideas with important decision makers in order to help shape the global development agenda.

When filling out the World Bank Guest Registration form make sure to do the following things:

12-1:30 PM: Global Young Leaders Dialogue on Leveraging Science, Technology and Innovation in support of the SDGs

The Global Dialogue will feature the progress and the impact of the Ideas for Action (I4A) Initiative and focus on Leveraging Science, Technology and Innovation in support of the SDGs. We live in the midst of the greatest information and technological revolution in human history. This so called 4th industrial revolution has the potential for tremendous impact in people lives through accelerating progress towards a dignified life, in peace and prosperity, for all people. The important role that scientists and engineers could play in generating innovative ideas in the international development space will be pointed out. In addition, the World Bank’s new book, titled Financing Sustainable Development: Ideas for Action, 2017, will be launched during this event. Presenters will include experts and entrepreneurs from around the world, attending the dialogue both onsite and online. Representatives of the World Bank Group, academia, and the private sector as well as the winners of the I4A competition will participate in the conversation. The Global Dialogue will connect young people all over the world to discuss common issues, development, and shared prosperity.

3-4:30 PM: Ideas4Action at the World Banks

As part of the official Annual Meeting,  a session will held at the World Bank Headquarters to share insights into promoting youth engagement with World Bank officials, government representatives, and industry thought leaders from around the world.
